Top 5 New Year's Goals

Life is all about balance, explore yours. Creating a balanced life means making time for the things you have to do, as well as those you want to do, like pursuing your New Year's resolutions outdoor. You have the power to create harmony between your responsibilities and find time each day to do things that bring you pleasure, personal fulfillment, and rejuvenation. Remember, balance comes from within.

We want to share some of our favorite goals and resolutions for the New Year!

1. Make Exercise Fun

Ditch the running shoes and switch up the fitness routine. There are so many options when it comes to being physically active, you don’t have to force yourself to do an activity just because it the traditional form of exercise. Bike riding, ice skating, playing tag with your kids, dancing to your favorite song, and most importantly, Paddling! Yes, these fun activities count as exercise and are great ways to meet your New year's resolutions outdoor!

2. Find your Adventure Buddy with Similar Outdoor Goals

By working out together, you're not only helping each other become stronger and more responsible, but you'll also build trust in each other. A partner may also help alleviate stress in exercise environments, make you more likely to stick to your commitment, and work harder in succeeding in your goals. Everything is always more fun with a Buddy!

3. Explore the Outdoors

Get those Vitamin D levels up! Studies show that being outside in nature is relaxing, reduces stress, cortisol levels, muscle tension, and heart rates. Moreover, being outdoors isn't just good for your physical health but also your mental health. Consequently, you will find yourself happier within the fresh air, a perfect setting to continue your resolutions outdoor.

4. Discover Your Community and Share Outdoor Goals

Having people around you who are working toward a common goal can make a huge difference. Therefore, we recommend discovering a community that you can enjoy the outdoors and to exercise with. Share your goals, encourage teamwork and working together to achieve a common target. Additionally, community belonging boosts physical and mental health. So, grab that friend or family member and start paddling!

5. Make A Difference

The smallest effort can change the world. For example, if you pick up 3 pieces of trash while at the beach, park, city, or anywhere. You will help us and our efforts to keep our outdoor playgrounds clean. Furthermore, the NIXY team advocates for clean beaches as they participate in beach clean ups as a community with the Surfrider Foundation. We also support using the ocean as our classroom and support The Ocean Institute in their efforts to inspire children to learn.
