Great paddle!

I got the standard size paddle - I also have a paddle from another brand with a larger 96 in² area. I find Nixy's size easier to handle. With the larger paddle the blade tends to move sideways when I'm pulling it through the water which isn't happening for me with the Nixy paddle.

One of my shoulders gets strained if I'm too hard on it. I read that a smaller paddle, a more flexible shaft, and a shorter length would help with that, and it seems to hold up so far. That's why I picked the 3k carbon, to get a little more flexibility.

The pieces fit together nicely - there is no looseness at all in either connection.

Great for smaller paddlers

I’m 5’2” and 110lbs. This paddle has been so much easier to use. Lighter weight, solid design and lovely to look at!

Perfectly Light!

Soooo happy with this lightweight paddle for my slight stature/low muscle mass (5'3+"/80 lbs) with a (30 yr.) chronically compromised area of trapezius muscle that IN THE PAST made canoe/kayak paddling intolerable, swimming had to be carefully calculated timewise, ... but with this 100% carbon 86 sq " paddle, this 61 yr young woman is PADDLING WITH EASE, FURTHER DISTANCE THAN ANTICIPATED when adventure or caught in wind; DON'T EVEN HAVE TO THINK ABOUT OR PLAN HOW LONG I CAN PADDLE (before exciting the vulnerable area)! I am FREE TO GO WITH THE FLOW! After I return the paddleboard ashore --> I continue my lake experience with a gentle swim. And, I feel great! (NO after effects to address therapeutically as had been used to from any 'shoulder' activity.) (Just wish the bamboo designed paddle had been in stock when I ordered my package, as that would have really added to my rainforest memories!)
