The K4C ships with a US-BOX adapter that slides directly into the fin box and locks in place with the included screw. Same mount system as a center fin, so you keep the same launch and storage routine you already know.
Do I need a battery, and which Tedgix battery should I get?

Yes, the battery is sold separately. Tedgix offers two capacities in the NIXY catalog: B4 (423 Wh, 5 hours at cruising speed, 1.3 hours at top speed) and B8 (808 Wh, 8.75 hours at cruising speed, 2 hours at top speed). Pick the B4 for half-day cruises and most weekend paddles. Pick the B8 if you regularly run full-day sessions where the extra range is worth the additional weight.
How do I install the Tedgix K4C on my paddle board?

Slide the US-BOX adapter into the standard fin box on the bottom of the board (same slot as the center fin), drop in the included screw and plate, finger-tighten. Connect the motor cable to the battery, pair the wireless remote, and you are running. Total install: under 5 minutes. To remove for travel, loosen the screw and slide out. The K4C goes on the board in place of the center fin.
How is the Tedgix K4C different from a Bixpy motor?

Power and ecosystem. Bixpy motors run 540W and up, with higher thrust and a larger accessory ecosystem (kayak mounts, multiple battery sizes, propeller upgrades). The K4C is 400W, lighter, simpler, and built around a single use case: casual cruising. Choose the K4C when you want a light entry-level motor for relaxed paddling. Can I use the Tedgix K4C in saltwater?

Yes. The K4C is rated for both saltwater and freshwater. Rinse the motor with fresh water after each saltwater session to clear salt from the propeller, mounting hardware, and cable connections, then air-dry before storing. The IP68 rating on the wireless remote means the controller is fully sealed against submersion.
