Good to know

Mixed flatwater paddling with some impact tolerance built in. The 8 inch profile gives solid tracking on open water, while the flex layup absorbs impacts from rocks, sandbars, and dock landings without cracking. A good upgrade pick for paddlers whose home water is mostly lake or bay but occasionally shallow.

Yes if your board has a US fin box. That covers the full NIXY G5 lineup and most major SUPs. Screw and plate included.

Material generation. Both are 8 inches deep, both flex on impact, both fit any US fin box. The 8 inch flex is the older line in a solid color (yellow or black). The 8 inch TPU flex translucent is the newer thermoplastic polyurethane version with a translucent finish. Performance is similar; choose by color preference and what is in stock.

Slide the fin tab into the US fin box, drop in the included screw and plate, finger-tighten. Tool-less on most installs. The flex layup is forgiving on threads, so do not overtighten.

Flexible reinforced composite, US fin box compatible. The layup absorbs impact instead of cracking, which makes it forgiving for beach launches, dock landings, and occasional rocky takeouts.

Use it for daily flatwater paddling on lakes, bays, and protected coastal water where some shallow risk exists. It is a good replacement for a stock 9 inch fin if you want a little less tracking and a little more impact tolerance. Step up to a 9 inch stiff fin if you want more straight-line speed on deep water.
