Gifts for Paddle Boarders and Water Lovers: The 2026 NIXY Holiday Guide
Shopping for someone who'd rather be on the water? We get it. We're a paddle brand from Southern California, and our own wish lists look a lot like this one. Below are the gifts we'd want to unwrap, sorted by who you're buying for and how much you want to spend. Everything here was in stock when we wrote this guide.
Quick picks by budget
- Under $25: a NIXY wool-blend knit beanie ($19) or a NIXY Dry Sack (from $9). For anyone who's been cold at sunrise or lost their keys to the lake.
- $25 to $75: a Turkish beach towel ($39 to $55) or the NIXY Changing Poncho ($69). For beach days, surf checks and pool decks.
- $75 to $200: the Ventus electric pump ($89), the Adventure Changing Parka ($159) or a full carbon paddle ($189). For the paddler who's done pumping by hand, the swimmer who's done shivering, and anyone still using a heavy aluminum paddle.
- The big one: a NIXY Tahoe 114 or Tahoe 150 inflatable kayak ($549 / $699). For someone who wants their own boat that fits in a closet.
For the cold-water crew: NIXY Adventure Changing Parka ($159)
If your person swims in the ocean in December, runs a cold plunge, or stands on a swim-meet deck at 6 a.m., this is the gift. The Adventure Changing Parka has a waterproof, windproof hooded shell and a warm sherpa fleece lining, and it's cut oversized so you can change underneath it without hunting for a locker room. Deep waterproof pockets hold a phone and keys, and reflective stripes front and back help on dark mornings.
- Good to know: it runs big on purpose. For a snug fit, go one size down. Sizes come in pairs (S/M, M/L and so on), so check the size chart on the product page.
- Our gift colors: Black or White.
- Made for: cold-water swimmers, surfers, paddlers, sideline parents and campers.
Not sure whether they want a coat or a towel-style robe? Our guide Cold Water Swimming Coat or Robe? How to Pick walks through the difference.
Buying for the whole family or team?
Parkas get cheaper when you buy more than one. With Family & Team Pricing you can mix any parka (Adventure or Lite) in any size and save 10% on 2 to 3, 15% on 4 to 9, and 20% on 10 or more, applied automatically in your cart. It covers parkas only and can't be combined with discount codes.
For travel and mild winters: NIXY Adventure Changing Parka Lite ($139)
Here in SoCal, "winter" can mean 62 degrees and a stiff onshore breeze. The Parka Lite keeps the same waterproof, windproof hooded shell and roomy changing fit as the original, but swaps the heavy sherpa for a thin waffle-fleece lining. It weighs about 2.4 lb on average, against roughly 4 lb for the original. It's the one we'd pick for a spring surf trip, a lake weekend, or anyone who runs warm.
- Comes in Navy, Black, Off White and Red.
- It counts toward Family & Team Pricing too, so you can mix it with Adventure Parkas.
For surfers, swimmers and beach families: NIXY Changing Poncho ($69)
The towel poncho is the classic parking-lot changing room: pull it on wet, dry off, change underneath, done. The NIXY Changing Poncho has cotton terry inside and a velvet exterior, a big hood, a deep front pocket and an oversized fit with room to change. It's an easy win for the surfer, the triathlete, or the swim-team parent who's tired of holding up a towel.
- Colors: Black, Blue or Olive, sizes S to XL.
- Changing poncho or changing robe? Here's the difference in two minutes.
For the beach lover: Turkish beach towels ($39 to $55)
Turkish towels are flat-woven, so they're light, pack small, dry fast, and sand shakes right off. Every NIXY towel is woven in Turkey. Four we'd gift this year:
- Acelia Bamboo Turkish Beach Towel ($46). A bamboo-cotton blend with a smooth, silky feel, 37 x 67 in. The softest towel we sell.
- Ocean Oversized Turkish Beach Towel Blanket ($55). Turkish cotton, 59 x 85 in, big enough for two on the sand, a boat deck or a picnic.
- Melody Turkish Beach Towel ($39). A clean coastal stripe in Blue, Orange, Pink or Black.
- Parallax Turkish Beach Towel ($39). A bold diagonal stripe in four coastal colorways.
Want the full rundown? See our Turkish towel gift guide and Turkish vs. microfiber vs. terry. And yes, they get softer with every wash. Here's how to wash one.
For the paddler who has everything: upgrades they'll use every trip
- NIXY Ventus Electric Pump ($89). The gift that ends hand-pumping. Plug it into a 12V car outlet, set the PSI (up to 20), and it shuts itself off when the board is ready. Active cooling lets it do several boards in a row, and 7 nozzles fit most inflatable boards, kayaks and docks. Heads-up: it isn't compatible with the 12V outlets in electric or hybrid vehicles. No car outlet? It also runs off the NIXY Battery Power Pack ($69, sold separately).
- NIXY 3K Carbon Fiber SUP Pro Paddle, 94" Large blade ($189). Going from aluminum to full carbon is an upgrade paddlers feel on the first stroke. It's 100% carbon fiber, breaks into three pieces, adjusts from 175 to 215 cm and has an ABS-reinforced blade edge. The 94 sq in blade is sized for paddlers about 185 lb and up, or anyone who wants more power per stroke.
- A spare fin. Fins get lost, snapped and left on the beach. The NIXY 9" Tooless Center Fin ($19) fits a standard US fin box and clicks in without tools (pick the screw direction that matches their board). The 5" Tooless Side Fins ($15, set of two) suit boards with side-fin setups. Not sure which they need? Here's how to tell.
- A seat for long days. The NIXY Premium Foldable SUP Seat ($59) turns a paddle board into a sit-down cruiser or fishing platform, with six recline positions, a steel frame and high-density foam. For kayakers, the NIXY Inflatable Kayak Seat ($125) uses 4" drop stitch, so it inflates firm like a real seat, weighs 3 lb and packs flat.
- NIXY 3.5 lb Anchor ($33). For SUP yoga, fishing or just floating in one spot. Galvanized steel, with a buoy, a 40 ft line and a carry bag.
The big gift: an inflatable kayak that fits in a closet
- NIXY Tahoe 114 Single Inflatable Kayak ($549). A 9'6" solo kayak with a rigid 4" drop-stitch floor that carries over 300 lb, so there's room for a paddler and a full day of gear. It has 8 D-rings, fishing-gear mounts and M8 action mounts, and everything comes in the box: a 4-piece aluminum oar, an adjustable seat with booster cushion, a foot rest, a hand pump, a fin, a repair kit and a wheeled backpack.
- NIXY Tahoe 150 Tandem Inflatable Kayak ($699). A 12'6" tandem for two adults (over 600 lb capacity). You can also paddle it solo from the back seat and leave the front open for a cooler or the dog. Two oars, two seats, the pump and a wheeled backpack are included.
Both come with a 2-year limited warranty and roll into their own wheeled backpack, so no roof rack or garage is needed. Kayaks ship for a flat $35, and any other gear in the same order ships free.
Stocking stuffers and small gifts under $35
- NIXY Beanies ($19). Wool-blend knit beanies in three fits: the Classic (regular knit), the Cuffed (fold-over cuff for extra ear coverage) and the Skull (close, low-profile fit). Made for dawn patrol and beach bonfires.
- NIXY DAP Vintage Washed Hat ($23). A soft, broken-in cotton dad hat with an adjustable strap, in seven colors.
- NIXY Rash Guard ($19 to $29). A UPF 50+ long-sleeve rash guard for men and women, with thumbhole cuffs. Perfect for anyone with a winter trip somewhere warm.
- NIXY Dry Sack (from $9). A roll-top dry sack that floats when closed, for phone, keys and wallet. 5L, 10L or 20L.
- NIXY 10L or 20L Waterproof Dry Bag ($29 / $34). Roll-top dry bags that float when closed. The 10L has a shoulder strap, the 20L has backpack straps, and both have a front splash pocket. Lots of bright colors.
Gift-giving FAQ
What if it doesn't fit, or they don't love it?
NIXY products bought between November 15 and December 31 can be returned until January 31. Return shipping on apparel and towels is free both ways, and we never charge a restocking fee. See Shipping & Returns for the details.
Will it arrive in time?
Orders ship from Southern California, and standard delivery usually takes 1 to 5 business days depending on where you are. Orders of $100 or more ship free within the continental U.S. (watercraft excluded). Our advice: order a little early in December, when carriers get busy.
Which parka size should I buy?
Both parkas are cut oversized so you can change underneath. If you're between sizes, or want a closer fit, go one size down. The size chart is on each product page.
Parka, Parka Lite or poncho?
Cold water, wind and rain call for the Adventure Parka. Mild weather, travel or someone who runs warm calls for the Parka Lite. A quick towel-change at the beach or pool calls for the Changing Poncho. You can see them all side by side in Changing Ponchos & Parkas.
Happy holidays from all of us at NIXY. Born in Southern California for life around the water.
